Job Description :
As Saab, Inc. gets ready to begin our manufacturing operation in Grayling, MI we are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who is interested in further developing knowledge in manufacturing technology. The Manufacturing Engineering function will be responsible for all the production technical work for assembly and installation, from calculation, production preparation and production of process documentation, to verification. The function is also accountable for manufacturing engineering development, manufacturing techniques, and qualification of new products based on both Saab and customer requirements.
The Manufacturing Engineer will be an integral link between the design team and the production team in our upcoming facility in Grayling, MI as they will support the current contract manufacturer in Camden, AR and bring that production over when the facility is stood up.
Responsibilities will include :
- Execute process planning for current and new products.
- Improve production flows and lay-outs using Lean Manufacturing.
- Drive continuous improvement for efficient production.
- Develops processes, methods, tooling, fixturing, and production controls for new and existing products and programs. To include the use of CAD (SolidWorks).
- Reviews design changes and specification changes and ensuring appropriate capture in the manufacturing process(es).
- Promptly responds to technical issues that arise on the production floor utilizing work instructions, design models, and specifications.
- Supports Failure Analysis, MRB repairs and special processes as needed
- Champion the Company values, consistently demonstrating - Trust, Drive, Expertise, and Support
- Able to work extended or flexible schedule to support the business
- Other project tasks as assigned.
Compensation Range : $108,000-$137,700
The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education / training.
Skills and Experience :
This role requires 50% travel to Camden, Arkansas for up to 18 months to support the contract manufacturer until the Grayling facility is ready. This role will also require the candidate to relocate to Grayling, Michigan when the facility is ready. Saab's relocation package will be available.

Must be a U.S. citizen. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
