Job Description:

Saab is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Staff Radar Systems Engineer Analyst to join our team to support electronic support measures (ESM) systems. Saab is currently hiring Radar Systems Engineers to fulfill active program developments, as well as developing radar solutions to bring new capabilities to our customers. The location of this position is flexible; the successful candidate will have the ability to either work remotely in the Northeast region or onsite in the East Syracuse, NY office.

Job responsibilities will include:

  • Participate in Transfer of Technology efforts for international Saab products being brought to the US to support US sales and support
  • Provide technical expertise in configuring, testing and optimization of electronic support measures (ESM) systems.
  • Support customer configuration of the ESM system to ensure all required emitters are properly classified.
  • Collaborate with customers to ensure that the ESM system supports operational needs
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to system performance.
  • Work within cross-functional teams that include systems, software, electrical, mechanical, and test.
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to junior engineers in the organization.
  • Collaborate across the functional organizations within Saab in the U.S. and across the global corporation.


Compensation Range: $128,800 - $167,400

The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

Skills and Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related discipline.
  • 15 years of relevant experience in safety critical or mission critical industries (aerospace, defense/military, medical, automotive, energy / nuclear, etc.).
  • Experience with design, development, assembly, test and integration of complex ground based, shipboard, and/or airborne radar systems.
  • Experience with the DoD architectural framework and design guidance for radar systems and systems engineering processes.
  • Experience with MATLAB (or similar).
  • Experience with radar systems, including radar control and signal processing.
  • International travel required
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build effective working relationships in team environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to effectively communicate to senior leadership, customers, and academic communities.
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must hold or be able to obtain U.S. DoD SECRET security clearance at a minimum.


Desired:

  • Master’s or PhD degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related discipline.
  • Prior experience with deployments and field testing of DoD ESM systems
  • Recognized as the prime technical contact (e.g. SME) on a project and has demonstrated direct customer engagement experience, especially in roles as an advisor to management and customers.
  • Experience with digital receiver architecture and digital signal processing techniques.
  • Experience with EM/RF design software (ADS, Microwave Office, HFSS , CST, Genesys).
