Position Summary: The Pharmacy Services Manager will supervise and direct the pharmacy processes, and activities of personnel, to ensure the efficient and timely dispensing of medications to all patients while ensuring compliance with all relevant laws of the State Board of Pharmacy. This position does not include any clinical work. This role is strictly as a Pharmacy Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Acts as the temporary leader in the absence of the Pharmacy Director responsible for the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy which includes:
- Oversees day to day dispensations from all pharmacies/dispensaries outlets within the healthcare organization for specialty medications.
- Following all the organization's guidelines, policies, and procedures for the safety of delivery and handling of all specialty medications operations.
- Supervise the senior clinical staff regarding all clinical pharmacy operations pertaining to the specialty pharmacy
- Perform functions, duties and /or services in compliance with California State Board of Pharmacy, other regulatory agencies, contractual obligations, and funding sources.
- Maintain records/documents in accordance with California State Board of Pharmacy, SCC Policies and Procedures, contractual obligations, and funding sources.
- Medication error reporting and performing a root cause analysis in the Quarterly peer review reports in accordance with SCC policies and procedures.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels and anticipate changes in staffing needs and coordinate staff when shortage exists.
- Assign workloads, develop priorities, and establish work schedules necessary to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks.
- Ensure that pharmacy personnel are trained relative to procurement of prescription medications, patient assistance programs and 340B discount pricing.
- Maintain an operating environment that assures effective, efficient, safe operation of the clinic pharmacies and respond to the patients’ and clinicians’ needs.
- Manage daily dispensing of prescription medications.
- Ensure that pharmacy weekly ordering remains within allocated budget.
- Ensure that medication purchasing, stocking, and dispensing is done in accordance with pharmacy regulations, SCC policy & procedures.
- Manage processes to maximize acquisition of medications through patient assistance programs.
- Consistently utilize and facilitate effective strategies to communicate pertinent information in a timely manner.
- Perform trouble shooting when problems or difficult situations arise and take independent actions to resolve them.
- Maintain a safe work environment and workflow to eliminate medication verification errors and ensure accuracy.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Position Requirements:
- Licensed in the State of California as Licensed Pharmacist.
- 340b experience preferred.
- Manager experience within the past 5 years
- 5-10 years of prior administrative and supervisory experience preferably in a community Pharmacy, or similar setting.
- Current knowledge of outpatient clinic methods, including pharmacy operations.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and manage employees and clinical operations resulting in efficient Pharmacy

Salary : $151,000 - $184,000
