Nutritional Care Specialist
Job Summary
The primary purpose of your job is to plan and deliver nutritional care to residents in accordance with the physicians' orders and with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern the community.
FOLLOW ALL HEALTH, SANITARY AND INFECTION CONTROL POLICIES AND MAINTAIN ESTABLISHED STANDARDS OF PRACTICE SET FORTH BY THE COMMUNITY'S ADMINISTRATION AND DIETARY POLICIES AND PROCEDURES.
Requirements
- Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Dietetics or Foods and Nutrition
- Must hold an active state license as a Registered Dietician.
- Must maintain active membership and registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration
- Must possess and demonstrate the ability to carry out both verbal and written directions.
- Must possess and demonstrate good interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work with supervisors, co-workers and community staff in the performance of duties.
- Ability to observe proper safety and sanitary techniques.
- Ability to work hours as scheduled based on the requirements of the position/assignment.
- Must not pose a direct threat to the health and safety of others in the workplace.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two (2) years of experience as a professional dietitian or dietetic technician in long-term care with some administrative responsibility, or one (1) year experience as a registered consulting dietitian with one or more long-term care facilities preferred.
- Maintain nutrition knowledge base related to long-term care through continuing education to ensure application of current research information and methods to nutrition practice.
- Must possess a working knowledge of the fundamentals of food safety and sanitation.
