Saber Power Services, LLC, (SPS) located in Houston, TX is a nationally recognized full service, EPC, specialty engineering, procurement, construction and testing and commissioning company specializing in complex medium and high voltage electrical infrastructure in North America. 

Saber Power Services seeks a professional, dedicated individual with a positive outlook for our Electrician opening in Geismar, LA.  

 JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND SUMMARY:

• Must have experience installing a substation from ground up. This includes working knowledge of equipment found in a substation (transformers, regulators, re-closures, circuit breakers, gang operated switches, circuit switches etc.)
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills for electrical installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment.
• Must be able to read and interpret plans and specifications
• Implement OSHA safety requirements and job specific safety standards
• Install and maintain transformers and other equipment
• Must be familiar with the basic systems which make up a substation, grounding, control wiring and schematics, cable termination, conduit installation and steel erection.
• Have the ability to operate the equipment needed to build a substation. (skid steer, backhoe, excavator, crane truck, man lift and trencher)
• Troubleshoot-distribution systems
• Understand blue prints, wiring diagrams, and manufacturers installation manuals to complete projects
• Must have the ability to effectively communicate concepts, standards and instructions to others verbally and in writing.
• Knowledge of associated computer operation may be required.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills as-well-as the ability to build and sustain relationships with colleagues and customers.
• Provide quality craftsmanship at all times

REQUIREMENTS

• Valid Class A CDL and State issued driver’s license
• The candidate must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
• Maintains and contributes to a safe work environment. Adheres to all safety policies, procedures and practices, including the wearing of protective clothing and gear. Consistently uses tools and equipment correctly on the job. Reports accidents promptly and corrects or reports safety hazards.
• Have either OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
