Saber Power Services seeks a highly organized and detail-oriented Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to join our finance team.
JOB SUMMARY:
As the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Director, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the financial operations of the company. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making processes. Your expertise will be key in driving the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes, including revenue and cost projections, and understanding the impact of staffing plans on budgets and forecasts.
The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Director will report to the Chief Financial Officer for this Houston based role office in our Space Center area office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Planning and Analysis:
- Prepare financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making processes.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting, including revenue and cost projections, and assess the impact of staffing plans on the budgets and forecasts.
- Conduct comprehensive analysis of financial and market trends to inform business decisions and provide actionable insights.
- Prepare detailed annual financial budgets and monthly financial forecasts, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, monitoring and tracking financial performance, and analyzing variances to budget/forecast.
- Oversee the monthly income statement and some balance sheet accounting variances to budget/forecast.
- Monitor and track financial performance, analyzing variances to help drive performance improvements.
- Work closely with accounting teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
Revenue and Financial Oversight:
- Oversee the revenue recognition process, ensuring accurate reporting and analysis
- Develop and implement cost-saving measures and efficiency strategies across the firm to enhance profitability and operational performance.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of presentation materials for executive leadership and the board of directors.
- Participate in cross-functional projects and collaborate with other finance teams as required.
- This role requires a high degree of attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Perform other job-related duties as requested by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other relevant field is required
- Certified Public Account (CPA) certification is preferred
- Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive accounting experience with focus on FP&A is required
- Percentage of completion accounting experience is required
- Fluent user of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Self-motivated with a proven record of working independently without close supervision
- Highly organized with the ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
- Capable of working in a high-volume and high-urgency environment
