ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assess patients to obtain medical information including vital signs, weight, and height.
- Contact medical facilities to manage medical records, including retrieval and filing, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collect blood, tissue or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing.
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.
- Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
- Coordinate specialty testing applications and communicate with labs for diagnostic and laboratory services.
- Inventory and order medical, lab, and office supplies and equipment.
- Set up and perform routine laboratory tests and sample analyses.
- Operate electrocardiogram (EKG), and other equipment to perform routine diagnostic tests.
- Support the nursing staff in all aspects of patient care.
- Uphold all Sabino Recovery Policies and Procedures.
- Maintain client/potential client confidentiality in accordance with Sabino Recovery Policy
- Able to problem solve, engage in creative thinking, able to respond quickly to crisis situations, and interpret medical abbreviations in writing and orally.
- Able to interpret a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, or schedule form.
- Must be able to excel in fast-paced working environments, dealing effectively with distractions.
- Must have excellent written/oral communication skills.
- Must possess strong ethics and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Possesses good attention to detail.
- Is reliable in achieving results within expected time periods.
- Have a good understanding of SR policies and procedures.
- Responsible for completing all mandatory SR training.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- At least two (2) years' experience providing medical assistant duties.
- Previous phlebotomy experience required.
- Medical coding and billing experience preferred.
LICENSING/CERTIFICATION:
- Current Medical Assistant Certificate from Accredited Institution
- Current CPR/First Aid or BCLS certification.
REPORTING TO THIS POSITION: There are no reports to this position
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Walk at a fast pace. All employees must adhere to all safety rules and regulations required by local, State and Federal authorities, wear the appropriate personal protective equipment necessary to perform the job in a safe manner and will follow all safety rules per the Company's Safety Policy.
