Legal Assistant / Paralegal – Insurance Defense
Location : Onsite, Full-Time
Salary : $24 - $28 per hour
An established, mid-sized law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant / Paralegal with a concentration in Insurance Defense , particularly involving heavy truck accidents . If you have a strong legal background and thrive in a fast-paced, team-driven environment, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities for the Legal Assistant / Paralegal :
- Draft, compose, and edit legal documents, including discovery requests, discovery responses, and IPRA requests
- Request, review, and summarize medical records to assess case viability
- Conduct investigations and assist with evidence gathering, including accident reports and expert evaluations
- Manage an active caseload with a focus on litigation involving heavy truck accidents
- Navigate State and Federal Court e-filing systems for timely filings
- Utilize Westlaw for legal research and case preparation
- Communicate directly with witnesses, clients, insurance adjusters, and expert witnesses
- Prioritize multiple cases and meet deadlines efficiently
