Scope of Responsibility:
Coordinates and expedites flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between sections or departments, according to production and shipping schedules or department priorities, and compiles and maintains manual or computerized records
Essential Duties:
- Coordinates and expedites flow of materials, parts and assemblies between sections or departments, according to production and shipping schedules or department priorities and compiles and maintains manual or computerized records.
- Reviews production schedules and related information and confers with department supervisors to determine material requirements to identify overdue materials and to track material.
- Consistently communicates the production schedules, coordination of materials and departmental needs with the project management group, schedulers and management.
- Coordinates with inventory onsite regarding part availability, shortage and demand based on current and upcoming jobs.
- Coordinates with purchasing regarding parts needed, delivery schedules and P.O. questions.
- Communicates with scheduling and project management as needed regarding but not limited to the production schedule, or risk of any types
- Communicates with production Supervisor regarding jobs, parts, risk, schedule, etc.
- Receives material and follows up with purchasing and/or external vendors on requisitions material and establishes sequential delivery dates to departments, according to job order priorities and material availability.
- Examines material delivered to production departments to verify conformance to specifications.
- Arranges in-plant transfer of materials to meet production schedules.
- Compiles and maintains manual or computerized records, such as material inventory, in-process production reports, and status and location of materials.
- Ensures movement or transport materials from one department to another as needed.
- Arranges for repair and assembly of material or part
- Updates and monitors daily movement of parts providing information to appropriate personnel regarding back order of critical scheduled material.
- Coordinates the delivery of materials as required for designated production areas and engineering projects.
- Reviews material requisitions issued to the stockroom to ensure that material is properly allocated and storage will not affect production.
- Works with departments to ensure the completion of physical inventory counts and prepares lists of obsolete and excess quantities of stock components. Examines stock to identify parts requiring quality assurance approval.
- Ensures damages or excess goods are handled properly
- The ability to work both independently and lead in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours as required.

Position Requirements:
Education:
- Associates degree preferred
Experience:
- Minimum 2 or more years' experience in production/material control
- Experience and knowledge of ERP / MRP systems preferred (preferably Epicor Vantage)
Skills & Abilities:
- Regular and timely attendance is required
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required
- Must have a complete understanding of material control concepts and standards and have experience applying those concepts and standards using inventory procedures and record keeping practices
- Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company
- Must work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices
- Must be proficient in computer applications; have working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Efficiently multi-task, prioritize and demonstrate sound judgment in decision making ability.
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong planning, organizational, analytical and leadership skills
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, twisting and handling of materials
- Must be able to work in an outside manufacturing environment for long shifts, including weekends
- Position requires manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness and a safety-minded individual
- Must be able to work in an open environment exposed to extreme temperatures
- Must have the ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods of time and be able to observe and receive information from all relevant sources
- Demonstrated ability to work with frequent interruptions in work flow and constantly changing priorities
- Must be able to perform physical activities that require use of fingers, hands and arms, such as sitting, typing, using office equipment and reaching. Some additional physical activities may require walking, stooping, bending, twisting and handling of materials
