Responsibilities :
Sabre Systems is actively looking for a Sr. AR / VR Developer to support our Navy customer in Dahlgren, VA. As an AR / VR Developer, the individual will be developing AR and VR environments and systems using the latest AR / VR headsets. Software developer will leverage 3D scanning systems to create realistic 3D models of real world objects. Tasking requires that the developer utilize the Unity or Unreal gaming engine, along with C# and Python to develop AR / VR environments. Tasking will also include integrating sensor outputs, other software applications, and AI / ML algorithms into AR / VR environments.
Qualifications :
A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position, or technical discipline or equivalent experience such as direct hands-on experience with Augmented Reality / Virtual Reality (AR / VR) development or a military training background. Specialized Experience shall also include five (5) years of experience demonstrating the ability to code, to develop training, tactical planning, and engineering of visualizations that can be used with the latest generation AR / VR headsets and hardware systems; two (2) years must demonstrate the use of Unity or Unreal game engine and C#; as well as knowledge or experience in 3D model creation pipeline, lighting, texturing and shader development.
- Proficient in C#, C or C, and familiar with Python.
- Familiar with parsing of binary packages over the network or raw input files using defined format descriptions.
- Knowledge of inter-process communications (networking, named pipes, memory mapped files).
- Ability to integrate with external plugins and libraries.
- Knowledge of video encoding, decoding and streaming through FFMPEG / VLC / GSTREAMER.
- Familiar with Git workflows.
- An active DoD Secret Clearance or higher is required
- Candidate is required to pass a background investigation
- Must be a US Citizen
