TITLE: Registered Dietitian DEPARTMENT: Health
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assess health and diet needs for diabetes patients and local community members.
- Counsel patients on nutrition issues and health eating habits.
- Perform initial and follow-up nutrition assessments, implement interventions and the personalized nutrition plan of care.
- Review, analyze, and make recommendations to the Senior Program monthly menus.
- Provides instruction and counsel to patients and/or significant others according to protocol and documents appropriately.
- Promote better nutrition through public speaking and community outreach program.
- Document patient progress in the electronic health record.
- Assist with and prepare reports as required by the grant guidelines.
- Keep up with the latest nutritional science research.
- Abide by confidentiality guidelines as required by professional standards.
- Participate in committees as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess a Registered Dietitian (RD) and/or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) License in the State of Iowa.
- Prefer knowledge of diabetes.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with Meskwaki community members and be sensitive to tribal beliefs and traditions.
- Must be familiar with HIPAA policies and compliance.
- Must have good verbal and written communication.
- Must submit to and successfully complete background investigation.
SUPERVISION:
- Supervised by the Diabetes Program Coordinator
SALARY LEVEL:
- Annual Starting Salary: $49,732 - $67,142
Applicants will be required to submit to a background check and to a pre-employment drug test.
