TITLE: Seasonal Natural Resources Technician DEPARTMENT: Natural Resources
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: As department Intern, aptitude and willingness to learn are key:
- Support the Environmental Branch in all environmental programming to include; air quality, water quality, soil and land ecology
- perform routine water sampling and data collection
- perform air quality monitoring and data collection
- data management and report writing
- field survey and data collection for various plant materials, wildlife and aquatic species
- maintain office and workspace in a clean and orderly fashion
- perform light custodial maintenance of equipment such as utvs and trucks
- attend meetings and trainings to enhance development
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D required
- Currently enrolled college student in a Natural Resources, Ecology, Conservation, Agriculture or similar program preferred
- Valid driver's license; must be insurable per Tribal Government requirements.
- ability to work outdoors in all weather, traverse uneven ground for long periods of time, while carrying a pack with tools/supplies and work around or in natural bodies of water.
SUPERVISION:
- Environmental Specialist, Meskwaki Nation DNR
SALARY:
- Hourly Salary Range $ 17.00/hr
- seasonal position, not to exceed 6 months, dependent upon availability of EPA funding source.
