Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Patient Advocate with a valid insurance license to join our pharmacy team. This role is pivotal in helping patients navigate their healthcare and insurance needs while connecting them to our pharmacy's comprehensive services. The Patient Advocate will focus on patient acquisition, building relationships, and ensuring that patients understand and utilize their insurance benefits effectively for their prescriptions and healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Acquisition:
- Proactively identify and engage potential new patients to introduce them to the pharmacy’s services.
- Build relationships with patients, healthcare providers, and the local community to promote pharmacy offerings.
- Insurance Advocacy:
- Educate patients about their insurance options, including prescription coverage, co-pays, and savings opportunities.
- Assist patients in understanding and maximizing their insurance benefits to access pharmacy services.
- Facilitate insurance verification and help patients navigate prior authorizations, claim denials, or coverage issues.
- Community Outreach:
- Represent the pharmacy at community events, health fairs, and other public forums to increase awareness of services.
- Develop partnerships with healthcare providers, employers, and organizations to grow the patient base.
- Patient Support:
- Provide personalized support to patients to ensure they have a seamless experience with the pharmacy.
- Act as a trusted resource for patients, answering questions related to medications, insurance, and available services.
- Marketing and Promotion:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create campaigns that highlight the pharmacy’s unique value.
- Promote wellness programs, vaccination clinics, and other initiatives to attract new patients.
- Data and Reporting:
- Track patient acquisition efforts and maintain accurate records of outreach activities.

Qualifications:
- Licensure:
- Must hold a valid insurance license (e.g., Health and Life Insurance License) in the state of employment.
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business, or related fields preferred.
- Experience:
- Proven experience in a pharmacy, healthcare, insurance, or patient advocacy role.
- Familiarity with pharmacy operations, insurance processes, and prescription coverage.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of insurance plans, billing processes, and benefits structures.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain complex insurance topics in a clear and empathetic manner.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency with technology, including CRM tools and pharmacy software.
- Other Requirements:

- Flexibility to travel locally for community events and patient outreach.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily based in the pharmacy with occasional travel to attend events and meet patients.
- Some evenings or weekends may be required for community outreach efforts.
