Job Summary: The Logistics Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless movement of goods throughout our supply chain. This individual will coordinate with suppliers, transportation providers, and internal teams to manage inventory levels, optimize shipping schedules, and meet delivery deadlines. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and possesses strong problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee all aspects of the supply chain, including procurement, transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate stock while avoiding overstocking.
- Develop and maintain relationships with carriers, vendors, and suppliers to negotiate competitive rates and ensure timely deliveries.
- Create and manage shipping schedules, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and company deadlines.
- Track shipments and resolve any issues related to delays, damages, or discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory levels, and logistics costs.
- Analyze logistics data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including customs and safety standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, sales, and customer service, to align logistics activities with business goals.
- Prepare regular reports on logistics performance metrics and present findings to management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 2 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of logistics software and systems, such as ERP or TMS platforms.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on process improvement.
- Familiarity with agricultural or food industry logistics is a plus.
