The Director of Business Development is accountable for securing business in multiple market segments. Accountable for establishing and executing sales strategies, identifying and securing business opportunities, negotiating and closing business deals, managing new and existing customer relations and directing internal sales team.

Responsibilities

- Must demonstrate and model Sachse Construction’s core values
- Lead overall business development efforts to secure work in target markets
- Prepare and implement strategic sales plans for target markets and clients
- Participate in related industry associations and events to gather market intelligence
- Develop and maintain client relationships
- Manage all lead tracking and data reporting to leadership
- Identify and develop relationships with potential partners
- Participate in development and generation of proposals as needed
- Identify trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements, tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments.
- Locate or propose potential business deals by contacting potential partners, discovering and exploring opportunities.
- Screen potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; recommending equity investments.
- Develop negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new venture with company strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials; estimating client’s needs and goals.
- Close new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Enhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Qualifications

- 15 years professional experience in a business development role
- Bachelor’s degree
- Previous experience within a construction, engineering, architecture firm HIGHLY preferred
- Relationships with institutional clientele a plus
- Cosential Knowledge preferred
