The Position Requires The Candidate To
- Co-plan classroom lessons with the fourth-grade partner
- Deliver daily lessons
- Supervise students during yard and car duties (dismissal)
- Conduct educational assessments
- Write quarterly report cards
- Meet with families at parent-teacher conferences and Back-to-School Night and Spring Showcase
- Communicate with families by using a bi-weekly class newsletter
- Communicate with and meet with families to discuss their child as needed
- Facilitate field trips including one overnight field trip
- Attend monthly faculty meetings
- Engage in professional development in all curricular areas, in Responsive Classroom training, etc.
- Proficient in Google Classroom is a plus
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, advanced degrees in education and teaching credential is preferred
- At least three years of lead teaching experience
- Success working with children in a classroom setting
- Patience, kindness, and an overtly warm manner with children
- Ability to set boundaries with children in a firm but loving way
- Ability to support (assist) the social-emotional growth of students and support problem-solving and conflict resolution
- Investment in diverse and inclusive curriculums, connections with students, and families
