The Sacramento County Office of Education is seeking a talented and dedicated Project Specialist II to join our Assessment, Research, and Evaluation team. The Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) is one of 58 county offices of education in California. SCOE staff work year-round, providing services that complement and supplement those offered by public school districts in Sacramento County. SCOE provides technical assistance, curriculum and instructional support, staff development, financial advice, and oversight to Sacramento County school districts.

Salary and Benefits

  • Annual salary: $115,156.15 per year (2024/2025 salary)
  • Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, life, vision, and TSA options
  • Benefit allowance: $868.87 per mo. for single health coverage and $1,493.27 for 2-party or $1643.27 for family

Job Summary

The Project Specialist II, Assessment, Research, and Evaluation serves as a key team member for the Sacramento County Office of Education, planning, organizing, coordinating, and implementing a variety of activities related to assessment, research, evaluation, and professional learning to support SCOE programs and various partners at the local and state level. This position offers a meaningful opportunity to apply your expertise in educational assessment and research in support of public education, with excellent job security and the satisfaction of furthering our educational mission.

Qualifications

Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree; extensive experience with professional learning programs or in student assessment, particularly with standardized, large-scale assessment; experience in research and evaluation, preferably in a public education setting.

Candidates should demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of large-scale assessment delivery and management practices; educational testing principles and practices; test construction issues particularly related to validity and reliability; research methodology; survey techniques and program evaluation procedures; effective presentation and training methods; current classroom management practices; principles of project management and budgeting; data

collection, analysis, and reporting strategies; digital accessibility standards; and standard software applications.

Key abilities include planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating programs; organizing and coordinating various activities and projects; working cooperatively with individuals and groups; developing measurable goals and objectives; establishing program analysis procedures; performing mathematical and statistical calculations; and communicating effectively in both oral and written forms.

Pay: $115,156.15 per year
