PAY SCALE: $75,000 - $90,000
Sacramento Credit Union is seeking an experienced candidate who enjoys building relationships with prospective business partners, organizations and employer groups for our Business Development Officer (BDO) position. The BDO will develop, maintain and expand auto dealer (CUDL) relationships, with a goal of increased loan production; mine and develop SEG relationship opportunities with the goal of increasing membership and credit union engagement; and assist with marketing the credit union in the communities we serve, by seeking and attending events and through affiliation with beneficial groups and organizations.
The BDO will possess sales or community engagement experience, preferably at a financial institution. Additionally, the BDO will have experience underwriting dealer loans or working in a dealership financing role, as well as excellent communication skills.

Job Duties
- Develop strategies for loan growth through indirect business and external relationships.
- Make recommendations regarding rate adjustment, program details and loan products to ensure competitive and preemptive position.
- Maintain working knowledge of regulations, economic trends and credit union trends related to indirect lending.
- Utilize data analytics to measure success of efforts and make data-driven decisions to improve engagement. Prepare regular reports on program outcomes.
- Analyze loan reports to gauge dealer results and to determine business strategies that target growth and monitor performance. Report information to management monthly.
- Effectively assist dealers with the loan origination platform. Keep dealers apprised of credit union products, services, pricing and program guidelines
- Provide feedback to the Consumer Lending team to ensure consistency and quality of service and operations.
- Attend community events to promote SCU and our business lines. Represents the Credit Union at various functions to develop business relationships.
- Engage with prior and potential SEGs to promote SCU products and services, with a goal of creating continual business sources.
- Support the Real Estate Lending department by assisting with contact management and referral of services.
- Maintain high product knowledge by learning new selling techniques, new products and market trends.
- Discuss business partner needs, problems or complaints, and arranges for meetings between members or prospective members and representatives of various Credit Union function areas.
- Partner with existing and potential partners to create mutually beneficial promotion and business opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure cohesive understanding and unified presentation for member engagement.
NECESSARY Requirements
- Three to five years of experience with a financial institution leading a branch or acting in an independent business development role. Strong connections within the local community, including organizations, desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in work involving much personal contact with others inside and outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
- Ability to work variable days and hours, including evenings and weekends
- Knowledge of rules and regulations related to dealer financing.
