About the Position
As Assistant Manager, Security, you will work closely with the Director, Security and Fan Experience to plan, implement, and update standard operating procedures and emergency action plans with a strong focus on safety and security. You will serve as a key point of contact for security-related matters during games and events held at Sutter Health Park.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, developing, and implementing programs to ensure the safety and security of all Sutter Health Park guests, employees, players, public officials, and clients
- Help determine staffing hours and required personnel for games and events
- Assist with reconciling payroll hours for security personnel
- Support management for all aspects of event and building security, emergency preparedness, and risk management
- Provide direction to staff in emergency response situations; help maintain Emergency Operating Plans
- Help assess, develop, and execute security strategies to secure building perimeters, access points, and staff work areas
- Support the management of event security staff during games and special events
- Execute Arena Security Procedures & Guidelines
- Assist with conducting routine operational reviews and recommend modifications to security programs as appropriate
- Help maintain electronic incident management systems, including documentation and archiving of security-related incident reports
- Investigate customer complaints and work towards resolution
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
- Help enforce safety program policies within the department
- Assist in developing key initiatives in partnership with other departments
- Hold team members accountable in performance of duties; support disciplinary actions as appropriate
- Implement security best practices
- Lead by example and consistently demonstrate hands-on customer involvement while promoting teamwork
- Foster positive working relationships with local law enforcement and other external partners
- Help maintain high morale and promote an energetic environment within the security department
- Assist with internal and external security investigations
- Additional duties as assigned
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum of a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
- Valid driver's license
- Guard Card required
- 3 years of experience in guest services and security within a sports venue or other public assembly facility
- Understanding of operational characteristics of live entertainment security and safety programs
- Knowledge of crowd management techniques and pertinent regulations
- Experience in crisis management, investigation, security technology, and risk management
- Experience with scheduling and payroll management
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 including Teams, Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Experience or ability to learn scheduling programs and incident reporting software
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to manage emergency situations in a calm, professional manner
- Highly organized and able to meet tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment
- Ability to lead, give clear direction, and provide effective feedback
- Available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and long days for River Cats and Athletics home games plus special events
Physical Requirements
- Ability to patrol the property and access areas quickly
- Prolonged periods of patrolling or moving around the ballpark during games/events
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Compensation: This is a full-time, non-exempt position with an expected annual salary of $50,000 - $55,000. Final offers for this role will be made within the parameters of the salary range provided. Years of experience, skills, and other factors are considered when determining the salary offered. Total compensation & offer package will include the following:
