What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager, Parking - River Cats position at Sacramento River Cats?
The Parking Manager is responsible for leading the Parking team to provide a Clean, Safe, Fun, and Family Friendly experience at Sutter Health Park and ensuring full compliance with local parking regulations and traffic laws. This individual will collaborate with the Director of Stadium Operations to develop a parking department plan that includes compliance, goal & objective obtainment, and development of a fan experience culture. Along with Game/Event Day responsibilities, the Parking Manager will assist in overseeing parking lot security and maintenance during non-game or event days, transportation of employees, and assist the operations team with ongoing park projects.
Anticipated Start Date: January 6, 2025
Management Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee 100 Parking lot attendants, including recruiting, hiring, scheduling, and training to maintain best in class parking staff.
- Ensure River Cats Games, Athletics Games, and Sutter Heath Park special events are staffed at an appropriate level with adequate coverage/replacements. Complete all schedules monthly in ABI and make adjustments as needed.
- Complete biweekly payroll reviews ensuring all time is accounted for and entered appropriately into ABI in advance of payroll deadlines. Proactively communicate payroll needs to the Payroll Team with enough notice prior to payroll deadlines or as soon as becoming aware of them.
- Address employee complaints and/or concerns in a timely manner and escalate as needed to the Director of Stadium Operations and/or Human Resources.
- Create/schedule and facilitate any ongoing training. Including, but not limited to, incident response protocols, guest service training, and emergency response plans.
- Reward and/or discipline employees by initiating positive feedback or taking corrective actions as necessary.
- Work with Operations and Fan Experience Management to ensure coordinated teamwork between Security, Operations and Fan Experience departments.
- Assist in administrative documentation including credential compliance, disciplinary notes, trainings, reporting, logging entries, and after-action reports.
- Conduct pre-event briefing sessions ensuring parking attendants are equipped with all necessary information and tools to execute a safe and successful event.
- Responsible for fleet management and driver compliance.
Parking/Responsibilities:
- Direct motorists to parking areas or spaces using hand signals or flashlights as necessary. Lift, position, and remove barricades to open or close parking areas.
- Responsible for ensuring parking logistics and experience are safe, effective and fan focused. Constantly monitors flow of ingress/egress and responds appropriately to any changes.
- Works with local agencies to communicate anticipated attendances and lot plans.
- Works with park facilities and engineering departments to ensure lots are kept clean and in working order.
- Track parking lot occupancy and revenue generation.
- Responsible for resolving guest questions and concerns.
- Assists Security by ensuring lots are secured at appropriate times and gates, equipment and fencing are in working condition.
- Responsible for ensuing inventory of lot equipment and supplies are kept at appropriate levels and in working order.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must have had a valid driver's license for at least 3-years and a driving record which will meet the requirements to be covered by our insurance for use of vehicles and carts in the course of doing business.

- Ability to support Sutter Health Park policies and procedures, being an advocate for the organization.
- Availability to work most River Cats and A’s home games plus special events throughout the season (nights/weekends/holidays). Must be available to work a flexible schedule including long workdays, early mornings, or late nights.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a parking supervisory role within a convention center, theme park, hotel, sports venue, or other public assembly facility.
- Experience managing and scheduling large teams.
- Experience de-escalating urgent matters and guest concerns.
- Previous customer service, leadership, and supervisory experience.
- Experience in Microsoft 365 programs and proficiency in learning new programs.
- Experience or ability to learn scheduling programs (ABI).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to patrol the property and access areas quickly.
- Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking in a game/event setting.
- Must be able to lift fifty pounds at a time.
- Willing and able to work in all weather conditions including rain, cold, sun, and hotter than average temperatures.
Compensation:
This position is a full-time, non-exempt role with an expected annual salary of $41,600-$49,920 ($22.00-24.00/hour). Final offers for this role will be made within the parameters of the salary range provided. Years of experience, skills, and other factors are considered when determining the salary offered.
