What are the responsibilities and job description for the Merchandise Sr. Lead - River Cats position at Sacramento River Cats?
The Merchandise Sr. Lead will provide support and oversight for the team working during games and events at Sutter Health Park. The role will assist with all store functions while also providing support for the team working the event. Under the direction of the Assistant Manager and Director, the Sr. Lead will help to answer questions from the team, provide support with guest concerns, direct team members on processes, and manage breaks for the team.
On Deck Shop Responsibilities:
- Ensure the On Deck Shop team are creating a friendly and welcoming guest experience.
- Assists with all store functions including tagging, labeling, inventory management, freight processing and all day-to-day store activities as directed.
- Restock merchandise and assists with inventory procedures including correct pricing of merchandise. Report and coordinate low stock item replacement with the Shipping & Receiving Manager, the Assistant Manager, and Director.
- Provide leadership and direction to associates as needed, including answering questions, directing processes, and managing team break rotations.
- Monitor and check in on staff working at kiosks both inside and outside the ballpark during events and games, ensuring they have appropriate supplies and support.
- Ensure staff are following all safety procedures including appropriate use of ladders, safe lifting practices, and prevention of heat illness.
- Assist in resolving guest concerns.
- In the absence of the Assistant Manager or Director, act as the onsite leadership for the On Deck Shop and kiosks for some events and games.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- High attention to detail.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Must be able to climb a ladder and lift merchandise onto warehouse shelves.
- Ability to operate or to quickly learn the point-of-sale system.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent sales and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with varying degrees of importance.
- Previous retail experience required. Previous experience operating retail stores and kiosks inside a multi-use facility preferred.
- Previous leadership experience is preferred.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays.
Compensation: This position is a full-time, non-exempt role with an expected salary of $18.50/hour. Total compensation & offer package will include the following:
