Job Description
The Vice President of Stadium Operations will provide oversight and direction of Events, Security, EMS, Guest Services, Parking, and Operations at Sutter Health Park. This position will work closely with contracted services, including Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, and Engineering. As the department leader, the VP of Stadium Operations will have oversight of all logistics, budgeting, and invoicing for their functional areas and contracted services. Overseeing much of the staff who interact with guests, this role has a direct impact on creating a welcoming and fun experience for everyone visiting Sutter Health Park.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the day-to-day operations of Sutter Health Park, events, facility operations, maintenance, cleanliness, and capital improvements.
- Act as incident manager during events and facilitate required incident meetings according to the Baseball Standard Operation Procedures (BSOP) to meet MLB requirements.
- Provide oversight and support for functional area leaders for Guest Services, EMS, Parking, Operations, Events, and Security to ensure programming exceeds guest, partner, team, and ownership expectations.
- Responsible for compliance with local, state, MiLB, and MLB standards for operating a professional baseball stadium and multiuse facility.
- Responsible for preparation and negotiation of contracts with vendors, contractors and/or service providers.
- Acts as a liaison to public safety agencies, risk management, public utility, environmental, city services, GOAL, and energy agencies. Promote a continued focus on sustainable practices, recycling, and energy-saving guidelines and efforts.
- Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, identify efficiencies, and streamline work processes to provide quality customer service.
- Build new relationships and nurture and maintain existing relationships in order to create opportunities for current and future stadium events.
- Develop and implement marketing activities, including internal resources, that will maximize attendance and revenue of non-baseball events at Sutter Health Park.
- Partner with functional area leaders and Human Resources to select, evaluate, and develop direct and indirect reports to ensure proper department staffing levels.
- Special projects as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in business or a related field.
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a senior-level operations/management position and must have directly supervised staff and operations of a complex, active, multi-use facility.
- Experience managing client and/or partner expectations related to events and/or facility rentals.
- Proven ability to manage complex budgets, including labor budgets, and event-related projections.
- High level of competence and experience in making sound and timely business decisions.
- Confidence in presenting plans and projections to all levels of internal and external partners.
- Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills.
- Proven organizational and leadership skills in mentoring large teams with varied responsibilities and experience levels.
- Capable of working extended hours, including nights, weekends, overtime, and on-call frequently during the season.
Compensation: This is a full-time exempt position with an expected annual salary of $110,000 - $120,000 plus eligible bonuses. Final offers for this role will be made within the parameters of the salary range provided. Years of experience, skills, and other factors are considered when determining the salary offered. Salary : $110,000 - $120,000
