What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medication Tech Middle Shift position at Sacred Heart Assisted Living LLC?
Responsibilities
1. Provide accurate administration of medication, treatments and skin care procedures as
ordered by physicians. Document and report all medication errors to Administrator.
2. Maintain accurate medication administration records, treatment records, and vital sign
monitoring. Oversee the documentation of resident daily care needs such as showers and
potty schedules.
3. Maintain documentation of resident care needs, incident reports, assessments and ongoing
evaluations. Update support plans as requested.
4.Process new physician orders with pharmacy.
5. Reorder medications as needed. Maintain wellness supplies.
6. Arrange for lab work, appointments, transportation and emergency medical services as
deemed necessary.
7. Fulfill resident support plan as outlined
8. Assess residents and notify physician, families, DOW and Administrator of any changes in
physical, mental or emotional status.
9. Establish and maintain professional communication and conduct with health care
professionals, families, supervisors and coworkers.
10. Maintain all health and safety regulations, OSHA guidelines, mandatory reporting,
reportable incident and disease reporting, exercise universal precautions and maintain a clean
work areas, including resident bedroom and bathrooms.
11. Participate in ongoing training as required by facility and Department of Public Welfare.
Must keep CPR & First Aide and all other certifications current.
12. Adhere to the policies and procedures of the facility.
13. Cooperate with DOW and Administrator. Lead by Example. Work as team player
14. Must provide care as assigned, complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
15. Observes and report orally and in writing or in any other manner, individual behavior,
attitude and physical condition, including changes.
16. Must be able to identify safety hazards and emergency situations and initiate corrective
action immediately and report all aspects to shift supervisor accurately: ie. Perform CPR,
Heimlich Maneuver, emergency evaluations, other emergency health and safety procedures.
17. Must attend all classes and/or meetings as assigned.
18. Demonstrate a positive and cooperative attitude and enthusiasm during all tasks.
19. Assume accountability for compliance with State, Federal and Local regulation.
20. Assist, guide and encourage residents in activities of daily living, self help skills, recreation
and therapies as directed.
21. Provides routine physical care and activities of daily to individuals, such as taking vital signs,
applying simple dressing, bathing, toileting, oral hygiene, grooming, etc.
22. Assist with ambulation, transfers, positioning, exercise and wheelchair transport of residents.
23. Must be well groomed, dressed according to uniform code and free of infectious diseases at
all times.
24.Escort individuals to and from various activities, clinics, and appointments and visits on and
off the grounds.
25. Participate in housekeeping functions which may involve moving furniture and equipment.
26. Must be able to perform housekeeping, dietary and activities duties when needed.
27. Must be able to understand the emergency signals, codes and procedures as outlined.
28. Must adhere to attendance policies and standards of confidentiality.
