Work where you matter. A Brief Overview Supervises routine patient food production, service and nutritional care, employee/visitor/cafeteria meals and catering activities. Provides exceptional care and service to patients, guests and employees at all times. Provides care/service in accordance with regulatory and accrediting agencies standards and the Ethical and Religious Directives for healthcare. What you will do Inventories, orders, receives, and stores food ingredients according to HACCP Guidelines. Evaluates finished products allowing only quality menu items to be served. Maintains knowledge of nutrition and therapeutic diets to train, supervise, food service workers, Diet clerks, and/or cooks. Knowledge of when to refer nutritional issues to Dietitians. Monitors staff use of food service chemicals for proper dispensing, labeling, and use for safety and effectiveness. Prepares weekly production staff schedule including staff vacations, catered events, etc. Daily counts, reconciles and records cafeteria money from cash registers. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience: ServSafe Certificate - National Restaurant Association Knowledge of therapeutic diets, food handling and sanitation. Previous food service experience in hospital or long-term care. Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience: High School or GED Equivalent Supervisor experience.
