Position Summary
Full-time Assistant Coach for the Division I Field Hockey program.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Coach & Player Development:
Assist in the design and execution of daily practices, focusing on skill development, team strategy, and game preparation.
Break down game film and training footage using video analysis tools.
Provide individualized feedback to players for performance improvement.
Assist in scouting opponents and developing game strategies.
Technology & Data Analysis:
Utilize coding skills to develop or improve systems for performance tracking, video analysis, or scouting reports.
Manage and analyze game and practice film using Spiideo and other video analysis tools.
Utilize ARMS software for roster management, recruiting, compliance, and team logistics and CARA logs.
Game Day Preparation & Logistics:
Plan and coordinate game-day operations, including travel logistics and equipment needs.
Manage food orders and meal planning for team travel and home games.
Assist in warm-ups, tactical adjustments, and sideline coaching.
Academic Support & Player Mentorship:
Help student-athletes stay on track academically by providing study resources, monitoring progress, and collaborating with academic advisors.
Foster a team vulture that prioritizes both athletic and academic success.
Alumni Relations & Community Engagement
Act as a liaison with alumni, maintaining strong relationships and organizing engagement opportunities.
Assist in creating and distributing a team newsletter to keep alumni, donors, and the community informed.
Lead and support community service initiatives and outreach programs.
Help with the administration of camps and clinics.
Other Duties as Assigned:
Perform additional responsibilities as directed by the Head Coach or Athletic Department to support the overall success of the program.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, & Other Attributes
Bachelor’s degree required.
Division I playing experience preferred.
Possess knowledge of NCAA and NEC rules and regulations.
Unusual Working Conditions
Untraditional hours this position will require work on nights and weekends.
