Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop a syllabus for the class with course objectives and a defined grading system.
- Develop and implement policy procedures for each class that address attendance, homework, missed work, and other relevant issues.
- Administer pre- and post-tests in the subject matter.
- Complete evaluations of student performance.
- Provide written assessments for each student, relating to their abilities, classwork, motivation, and commitment to the program.
- Provide program critique.
- Keep the director informed regarding any problems and/or concerns regarding the students.
- Advanced degree or certification in core subject areas preferred (English, Math, or Science).
- Experience working with high school students and disadvantaged populations is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Six-week summer program operating from the end of June through the first week of August.
- Staff will work either two or three days a week, depending on the subject.
- Attendance is required at the parent/teacher conference, two staff meetings, and the end-of-the-year banquet.
