What are the responsibilities and job description for the Small Animal Veterinarian position at Sactown Vet?
Sactown Vet is looking for a veterinarian to join our amazing team. We are a brand-new, fast-growing, small animal hospital located in the heart of midtown. We are a Fear Free certified practice, and we prioritize gentle patient handling, clear communication with clients and our team members, high efficiency, and team-work.
Why join our team?
- You have a two-hour lunch break to do procedures, finish records, or
- gasp
- eat lunch!
- You have a designated assistant who functions as a scribe to ensure your records are as complete as possible before you get to them. The assistant is also responsible for creating estimates, inputting charges, and facilitating patient flow through the hospital. (Imagine getting to go home on time!)
- We don't work weekends.
- Benefits include : CE allowance, paid vacation and sick time, health insurance, retirement, and staff discount
The right veterinarian for our practice loves working with people as much as animals. We are an open hospital, so clients are allowed in the treatment areas of the hospital if they want to be there (though admittedly, most clients don't). Some clients love to be a part of procedures and they enjoy the education provided by team members, therefore a willingness to teach is essential.
Sactown Vet is a fear-free certified hospital and plans to be cat-friendly and AAHA certified by next year, so the right candidate needs to believe in low stress and cat-friendly handling as much as our team does. The veterinarian must also prioritize high quality medicine as much as we do.
Other need-to-knows : we have digital radiographs, in-house Idexx lab equipment, Antech for reference lab, in-house ultrasound, digital dental radiography, we use VMI for radiology review and ultrasound services, and have a cardiologist available to come as needed. New grads are completely welcome. We love, love, love to teach!
