General Summary: The Food Runner is responsible for providing prompt and polite service to
the members and guests. Other key responsibilities include acting as the liaison between the
kitchen and servers and preparing, cleaning, and closing service stations.
Essential Functions:
Environment: This position operates in a fast-paced indoor environment. The climate will be
hot, humid, and somewhat noisy at times.
Physical: The employee is frequently required to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time, reach with hands and arms, stoop, bend, or kneel. The employee must push, pull, lift, balance, and carry trays of food up to 50 pounds repetitively. The incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation.
Hearing: The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds (e.g., conversation with members, medical codes, or alarms).
Speaking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to clients or the public and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.

- Deliver food orders from the kitchen to members’ tables promptly and accurately
- Replenish linens and dining equipment including silver and glassware for service; ensure
- Assist with table setting by placing appropriate tableware, utensils, and napkins;
- Assist with table side service of beverages, bread and butter, and ashtrays
- Keep the area clean, neat, and organized according to Board of Health standards,
- Deliver supplies to the beverage department and bartenders in service bars as needed
- Customer service skills with a friendly and welcoming approach
- Professional attitude and high standard of dress and presentation
- Multi-tasking abilities
- Good oral communication skills and the ability to read and write in the English language
- Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks
- Basic math Skills include the ability to count, add, subtract, multiply, and divide
- Knowledge of and ability to perform required roles during emergency situations
- High school degree or equivalent preferred
- 6 months of comparable food and beverage service experience preferred
