What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Worker position at Saddle West?
Position Summary: Repairs and maintains machinery, plumbing, physical structures, electrical wiring and fixtures in accordance with company maintenance policy.
Essential Functions:
1. High energy & positive attitude
2. Inspects machinery and mechanical equipment for defects as well as diagnosing as averting faulty operation of a wide variety of mechanical, electrical & auxiliary support equipment.
3. Dismantles machines or equipment to gain access to defective parts and repairs them.
4. Paints walls, floors, woodwork and fixtures of establishment, using spray gun and brushes.
5. Assists with construction or reconstruction of new and existing walls, floors, ceilings, doorways, cabinets, storage shelves and any other wooden structures as required using the necessary tools, (saws, braces, drills, bits and other carpenter tools).
6. Maintains repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and other plumbing equipment. Opens clogged drains, and repairs plumbing problems using necessary tools.
7. Installs and repairs electrical equipment, replacing wiring and fixtures as necessary.
8. Repairs and replaces plaster walls and repairs any brick work as necessary.
9. Measures, cuts and installs pipe and tubing for sewer, water and hydraulic lines using necessary tools.
10. High attention to detail.
11. Has a strong knowledge of health & safety regulations.
12. Can handle multiple tasks at one time.
13. Takes pride in their work.
Other Responsibilities:
1. Performs operations testing and maintenance of utility systems & equipment.
2. Adapts well to changing situations and efficiently handle fast pace work environment.
3. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and hydraulic problems.
4. Troubleshoot & repair of control, power circuits & instrumentation.
5. Adapts well to changing situations& can efficiently handle a fast-paced work environment.
6. Recommend procedures and schedules of maintenance activities to the Manager.
7. Walk daily routes and make necessary repairs.
8. Work varied shifts, to include weekends & holidays.
9. Completes work orders that support the different service areas in a timely manner.
10. Completes preventative maintenance on equipment & systems.
11. Responsible for operation, testing & maintenance of all life safety systems per industry standards.
12. Ensures chemicals are uses appropriately & is familiar with MSDS and how to respond to a Hazmat incident.
13. Provides a safe environment for all Visitors, Guests and Staff of Saddle West.
14. Assists in the inventory & control of spare parts as wells maintain records and reports on machinery history, equipment status and building conditions.
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
1. Experience in general maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment and buildings.
2. Working knowledge of diagnostic tools such as Amm Meters, Voltmeters, Compound Gauges, etc.
3. Strong verbal and interpersonal skills. Public interaction abilities required.
4. Physical requirements refer to pages 2 and 3.
5. Ability to interact with hotel/casino guests, supervisors and other employees.
