What are the responsibilities and job description for the Janitor position at Saddlebrooke HOA#1?
PURPOSE:
The Janitorial Department is charged with keeping SaddleBrooke One’s public facilities clean and sanitary. A janitor must be able to perform his or her duties with minimal supervision and have the strength and stamina for sustained walking, standing and lifting. Janitors work in the public areas and offer assistance to the general public and residents when necessary. The position of janitor is an hourly position where hours are subject to change according to the needs of the Association. A janitor must be flexible to work different work shifts. Work shifts may encompass days, nights, weekends and holidays. A janitor will perform duties as requested by the Operations Manager or the General Manager.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work indoors/outdoors, during summer heat and cold winter weather. This may involve standing, walking, reaching, stretching, bending, kneeling, lifting, using a full range of bodily movements to safely perform the following tasks.
- Lift/move large, bulky heavy items including but not limited to boxes and trash bags, weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance and/or using equipment such as a buffer or the power sprayer.
- Clean, sweep, scrape, mop, vacuum, scrub, bonnet, top scrub, blot, extract, finish, to include but not limited to floors, carpet, walls, stairways, flagstone, sidewalks, under and around commodes and sinks for a full 8 hour shift, except during breaks and lunch period.
- Read, understand and conform to various types of printed materials, including but not limited to: training documents, SaddleBrooke One department policies, Employee Handbooks, Employee Safety Program manual and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) regarding chemical substances, other safety- related information or Personal protective equipment.
- Ability to drive company vehicles, including golf carts, pickup trucks, and passenger vehicles to obtain access to all facilities.
- Assist with set-ups for the various groups and activities.
