Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Farm Hand to join our team. This job primarily focuses on work around the farm this includes fixing fences, filling hay huts, driving equipment (dump truck, skid steer, tractors, etc.). This work is primarily outside rain or shine, cold or heat. The ideal candidate comfortable around animals, particularly horses, and possess the skills necessary to maintain a clean and safe environment for both the animals and the facilities. This role involves a variety of tasks that support the daily operations of the stable, ensuring that all equine needs are met while promoting their health and well-being. This means occasional feeding and mucking when need. This canidate needs to be strong, fit, and self sufficient.
Responsibilities
- Feed and water horses according to established schedules and dietary requirements.
- Clean stalls, paddocks, and common areas to maintain hygiene and prevent disease.
- Operate farm machinery and heavy equipment as needed for stable maintenance.
- Maintain equipment such as power tools and hand tools used in daily operations.
Qualifications
- Experience with equine care is preferred but not mandatory; a willingness to learn is essential.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and farm machinery is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation such as forklifts is a plus.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various weather conditions.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks including lifting heavy loads and standing for extended periods.
