Along with technology discovery, development, and deployment, our charter also includes training the world’s future leading scientists and engineers needed for an electrified world.
Sadoway Labs is looking for an Analysis Engineer to join its team of pioneers. You will be responsible for conducting materials analysis and characterization in support of multiple research projects. Additional responsibilities will include developing analysis protocols, maintenance of characterization equipment, and procurement. Our researchers will use your support to design experiments that are well-suited to be analyzed by the most productive analysis technique.
Required Background: B.S. (or higher) in materials science, chemistry/chemical engineering or physics, 2 years of relevant industrial experience
Desired skills and experience:
- Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM)
- X-Ray Diffraction (XRD)
- X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF)
- Optical Microscopy
- Mass Spectrometry
- Materials sample preparation
- Metallography
Bonus skills and experience:
- Vacuum systems
- Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) spectrometry
- Lab management
- Work in a glovebox
- Previous experience in start-up environment
You will be a member of a small team comprised of both experienced and new researchers and support staff. Interpersonal relationships and team collaboration are critical at Sadoway Labs. As we work regularly in a laboratory environment, we routinely wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and you should be prepared to do so as well.
