SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities of 50 employees in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

SUMMARY Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in fabrication and assembly of products by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
Maintains a safe and productive work area.
Implement and drive LEAN activities. Ensures that 5S, Standardized Work, TPM and other LEAN process methodologies are adhered to.
Work as a Champion for the LEAN program. Leads Kaizen activities to update Standardized Work and optimize process quality and efficiency.
Provide strong leadership to direct reports.
Experience managing and driving department performance with KPI’s.
Understand and support KPIs and Shop Floor Management objectives. Ensures that quality and output targets are met and that the appropriate data is collected and reported.
Actively manages problem solving activities.
Reviews work orders to determine information such as material to be used, type of operations, and sequence of operations required.
Plans production operations for department, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
Coordinates manufacturing activities with P&IC to ensure production of quality products.
Examines defective machinery to determine cause of malfunction and reports need for machine repairs.
Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
Inspects work in progress and finished product to ensure compliance to standards.
Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for scheduling of overtime if required.
Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
Maintains time and production records.
Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School diploma required, two-year or four-year degree or relevant vocational training / certification preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience, given strong relevant product and process knowledge. At least one year of supervisory or team leadership experience is required.
