As a Behavioral Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This is a full-time position located in Delaware, OH with a possibility of working remote.
**Job Overview:**
As a Behavioral Support Specialist, you will work closely with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to provide behavioral support and assistance in daily living activities. You will develop and implement behavior support plans, monitor progress, and provide guidance and support to individuals and their families.
**Responsibilities:**
- Develop individualized behavior support plans based on assessments and evaluations
- Implement behavior support plans and provide guidance and assistance to individuals in managing challenging behaviors
- Monitor progress and make adjustments to behavior support plans as needed
- Collaborate with team members, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for individuals
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to individuals to promote independence and self-confidence
**Requirements:**
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or a related field
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
