At Safe & Secure Healthcare we are seeking a motivated, responsible, and compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Site Supervisor to oversee daily operations and provide leadership at a specific residential or community-based site for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. The Site Supervisor will supervise a team of DSPs, ensuring that individuals receive the highest standard of care and support. This role will involve direct care responsibilities as well as supervisory duties, fostering a positive, safe, and engaging environment for both staff and residents.

Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Supervise and provide guidance to a team of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), ensuring they follow protocols and provide compassionate care to individuals.
- Staff Training & Development: Conduct training and orientation for new staff, and provide ongoing professional development to DSPs. Ensure staff are up-to-date on certifications, policies, and best practices.
- Scheduling & Staffing: Create and manage staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for shifts and maintaining compliance with regulations.
- Performance Monitoring: Observe and assess the performance of DSP staff, providing feedback, conducting performance reviews, and addressing any areas for improvement.
- Team Meetings: Lead regular staff meetings, ensuring open communication and effective collaboration among team members.
- Individual Support: Provide hands-on care and support to individuals, including assistance with personal hygiene, mobility, meal preparation, medication administration, and other daily living activities.
- Goal Implementation: Ensure that the goals outlined in each individual’s Individual Service Plan (ISP) are implemented and documented. Provide guidance and encouragement to help individuals achieve their goals.
- Behavioral Support: Apply positive behavioral support techniques and interventions to help individuals manage behaviors and improve their social skills and daily living activities.
- Health & Safety: Ensure the physical and emotional well-being of individuals, monitor health conditions, and report any changes or concerns to appropriate medical professionals. Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Documentation: Ensure accurate and timely completion of daily logs, progress notes, incident reports, and other required documentation. Maintain confidentiality of all records.
- Compliance & Regulations: Ensure that the site adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations, including those related to care standards, safety protocols, and ethical practices.
- Quality Assurance: Assist in conducting regular site audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations. Make recommendations for improvements when necessary.
- Family & Community Interaction: Serve as a primary point of contact for families and guardians of individuals. Communicate effectively with external service providers, case managers, and other stakeholders to ensure consistent care.
- Crisis Management: Respond appropriately in emergency situations, providing leadership during crises and ensuring the safety and well-being of residents and staff.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required (Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a direct care role, with at least 1 year of supervisory experience (preferably in a healthcare or social services setting).
- Knowledge and experience in supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with individuals, families, and staff.
- Ability to manage staff in a positive and supportive manner while ensuring adherence to policies and regulations.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Ability to lift and assist individuals with mobility needs as required.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if applicable).
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
