Shift: Days, Four Ten hour days (Monday through Thursday)
Compensation: $80- 100K per year, DOE

Why we need you and what you will be responsible for:
With a record high backlog of boats to build, we are seeking a passionate, committed Continuous Improvement Specialist to help us build our amazing aluminum boats even more efficiently and successfully! They will apply Learn Manufacturing methodology to drive operational process improvements across the organization as a whole. This individual will provide mentoring, coaching, and training as needed at the facilities to support and promote the use of CI methodology and tools (Visual Management, Root Cause Analysis, etc.) and contribute to a CI Culture within the organization.
What you will do:
- Upon direction from the CI Manager, Leads Lean Projects and Kaizen events.
- Partners with various departments in identifying projects that are aligned with the priorities of the business (including process flow, process mapping, TPM, etc)
- Champions change and process improvement in the organization- acts as a change agent promoting the use of Lean manufacturing tools for CI throughout the organization
- Provides encouragement and guidance to leaders as they implement and sustain CI efforts/initiatives
- Monitors and reports on Lean Program and Kaizen Event progress to Leaders and TMs
- Asks questions and provides insight to others as a Subject Matter Expert to help drive culture change within the company to become a data driven, process-oriented organization
- Interacts with a variety of Team Members with a variety of levels of experience with CI, able to interact and support them based on their knowledge base and desired outcomes
- Involved and engaged with all phases of Lean Manufacturing projects from identification to selection to implementation to execution to sustainment.
- Analyzes and plans workflow- for methods, machines, materials, and Team Members/people. Identifies/recommends participants
- In collaboration with CI and Department leaders, Identifies and develops visual management tools and coaches in their use throughout the organization
- Schedules, organizes, and facilitates CI events and efforts at SAFE Boats
- Prepares reports, metrics, data, related to CI events at SAFE Boats under the direction of the CI Leader.
- Works with Health and Safety to ensure all processes and procedures promote a healthy and safe workplace
- Anticipates and pro-actively solves problems related to more complex processes or technologies, leads problem solving efforts to improve quality and eliminate waste
- Actively involved and engaged and may lead RCA (Root Cause Analysis) activities with other participants from Production Team Members to the CEO
- Instills a culture of accountability as related to CI efforts and initiatives. Champions and celebrates positive outcomes and successes within the organization.
- Monitors progress and ensures completion of daily, weekly, and monthly tasks- as well as achieving assigned annual plan goals for the CI Department.
- Maintains a current understanding of existing and emerging trends related to the CI industry.
Core Skills we are looking for:
- Technical Knowledge– Advanced background in CI/Lean methodology (3-5 years' experience)

- Problem solving - Ability to identify problems, conduct research, consult subject matter experts, and present timely cost-effective solutions
- Communication - Excellent internal and external customer-facing communication skills. Advanced written and verbal communication skills. Ability to share information effectively with a variety of Team Members.
- Organizational skills - Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
- IT - Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Understanding of Project Management software and database tools, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint is desirable
Experience/Education we need:
- BS Degree in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, mechanical engineering, business or related field strongly preferred. Substitute for relevant experience may be considered.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience with ISO 9000 required, experience implementing ISO preferred
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in various manufacturing functions in operations
- 3 to 5 years of experience of Lean Training
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a CI focused position using CI tools and methodology
- Proven success leading and facilitating improvement initiatives and projects
- Experience leading and coaching others in Lean/CI methods, systems, and practices
- Experience in the Marine Industry preferred, interest in the marine industry required.
