Job Title: Outreach Coordinator/Advocate
Reports To: Executive Director
Job Summary:The Outreach Coordinator is responsible for enhancing the visibility and impact of the organization by developing and implementing strategic outreach and public relations initiatives. The ideal candidate is a proactive communicator with a passion for victim services and a strong ability to foster relationships and build networks. This position will work between Stephens and Jefferson Counties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Outreach Coordination:
- Develop and implement outreach strategies to engage target communities, partners, and stakeholders.
- Organize and attend community events, workshops, and meetings to promote the organization's mission and programs.
- Build and maintain relationships with potential clients, community leaders, partner organizations.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for collaboration with other organizations to further the nonprofit's goals.
- Assist with community-based training opportunities.
- Content Creation and Social Media:
- Create compelling content for Safe Center’s website, social media, and print materials.
- Manage social media accounts, including content creation, scheduling, and community engagement.
- Monitor social media trends and analytics to refine strategies and improve engagement.
- Assist in the creation of promotional materials, such as brochures, flyers, and videos.
- Prevention and Education Programs:
- Coordinate, promote, schedule, and conduct online and in-person education and prevention programs for adults and youth.
- Proactively develop new contacts, conduct presentations, review leads, and deliver training proposals.
- Developing, administering, and maintaining program content and training materials.
- Develop professional development and team building activities for Safe Center staff
- Events:
- Assist Executive Director and Administrative Advocate with events, fundraisers, and other public-facing activities as directed.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote events and maximize attendance.
- Reporting and Evaluation:
- Track and report on the effectiveness of outreach activities.
- Collect feedback from community members and stakeholders to improve outreach efforts.
- Assist in preparing reports for the board of directors, funders, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, or a related field preferred
- 2-4 years of experience in outreach, public relations, or a related role, preferably within a nonprofit organization.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in social media management and content creation.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for the nonprofit sector and the organization’s mission.
Working Conditions:
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. Flexible schedule.
- Ability to travel locally for community events and meetings. Mileage reimbursed.
