Job Summary:
Safe Haven Family Resource Center is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Bilingual Visitation Specialist to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is essential in ensuring a safe, structured, and conflict-free environment where children can visit with their non-custodial parents. The specialist will be responsible for monitoring and documenting supervised visitations, as well as providing neutral exchange services.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate safe and family-oriented visitations between children and non-custodial parents.
Monitor visits and ensure interactions remain appropriate and free of conflict.
Document observations objectively using the designated observation template.
Provide monitoring services for neutral exchanges.
Maintain a professional and supportive environment for children and families.
Set appropriate boundaries and intervene when necessary to address inappropriate behaviors.
Communicate effectively with custodial and non-custodial parents while maintaining neutrality.
Ensure confidentiality and adhere to all policies and procedures of Safe Haven.
Work with diverse populations in a culturally sensitive manner.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
Experience working effectively with children and families in a supervised setting.
Ability to recognize and appropriately address inappropriate behaviors during visitations.
Excellent observation and documentation skills, with the ability to provide objective, factual reports.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Commitment to upholding the mission, values, and policies of Safe Haven Family Resource Center.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
Education and Experience:
Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Preferred: Some college coursework in child care, social work, or a related field.
At least two years of experience in a professional or volunteer capacity working with children and families.
Must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check and Child Abuse and Neglect Check.
