Position Summary:
Safe Haven Home Care, LLC, is seeking a compassionate, reliable Direct Support Professional to provide personalized care for a client requiring Homemaker Personal Care services. This role is essential in helping the client achieve their daily goals, enhance life skills, and maintain well-being in a safe and supportive environment.

Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support and assistance to individuals with disabilities in their daily activities during 12-hour shifts, including both daytime and overnight awake hours.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Support individuals in maintaining their independence and promoting their overall well-being.
- Implement individualized care plans and follow specific protocols for residents with specialized needs, such as hospice care, autism, or behavioral challenges.
- Ensure that residents' rights are respected and upheld at all times.
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure dietary needs are met.
- Provide transportation using the client’s wheelchair-accessible vehicle and drive individuals to appointments or community outings as needed.
- Lift and transfer residents as needed, following proper lifting techniques and using assistive devices when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents, including cleaning and sanitizing living areas.
Requirements:
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
- Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be able to legally work in the United States.
- Must be able to commit to accurate documentation of services rendered.
- Must be able to reliably pass a background check, no exceptions.
- Experience in direct support or caregiving preferred.
- Willingness and ability to lift and transfer individuals, including those who may require the use of assistive devices.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques is beneficial.
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with individuals with disabilities, their families, and other staff members.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with individuals who may have challenging behaviors or communication difficulties.
