Direct Service Provider

Shifts Available: Daytime and Overnight (Awake Hours), 12-Hour Shifts

Position Summary:

Safe Haven Home Care, LLC, is seeking a compassionate, reliable Direct Support Professional to provide personalized care for a client requiring Homemaker Personal Care services. This role is essential in helping the client achieve their daily goals, enhance life skills, and maintain well-being in a safe and supportive environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct support and assistance to individuals with disabilities in their daily activities during 12-hour shifts, including both daytime and overnight awake hours.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Support individuals in maintaining their independence and promoting their overall well-being.
• Implement individualized care plans and follow specific protocols for residents with specialized needs, such as hospice care, autism, or behavioral challenges.
• Ensure that residents' rights are respected and upheld at all times.
• Assist with meal preparation and ensure dietary needs are met.
• Provide transportation using the client’s wheelchair-accessible vehicle and drive individuals to appointments or community outings as needed.
• Lift and transfer residents as needed, following proper lifting techniques and using assistive devices when necessary.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents, including cleaning and sanitizing living areas.

Requirements:

• Must possess a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
• Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to legally work in the United States.
• Must be able to commit to accurate documentation of services rendered.
• Must be able to reliably pass a background check, no exceptions.
• Experience in direct support or caregiving preferred.
• Willingness and ability to lift and transfer individuals, including those who may require the use of assistive devices.
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques is beneficial.
• Ability to effectively communicate and interact with individuals with disabilities, their families, and other staff members.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with individuals who may have challenging behaviors or communication difficulties.

Summary: As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care and support to individuals in a group home setting. Your core skills in caregiving, along with experience in patient observation and behavior management, will be essential in ensuring the well-being of residents. With 12-hour shifts available for both daytime and overnight (awake) hours, you will assist residents with daily activities, transportation, and maintaining a safe, clean environment. Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 – 36 per week
