What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Advocate position at Safe Home Systems?
Duties
- Provide crisis intervention and support to individuals seeking shelter
- Conduct intake assessments and develop individualized service plans
- Assist clients in accessing necessary resources and services
- Provide case management and advocacy services to clients
- Conduct regular check-ins with clients to monitor progress and address any concerns
- Collaborate with other staff members and community partners to ensure comprehensive care for clients
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation
- Participate in team meetings and trainings as required
- Serve as on-call staff, as necessary and appropriate, to maintain 24-hour response to local victims of sexual assault and domestic violence by phone or in person.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in social work or related field preferred
- Experience working in a shelter or similar environment is a plus
- Knowledge of domestic violence, sexual violence, stalking and crisis intervention techniques
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in data collection, file management, and documentation
- Ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity and professionalism
