Sexual Trauma Advocate
Reports to: Sexual Trauma Coordinator
This position serves York and Union Counties.
Key Duties: (Duties are illustrative and not inclusive. Individual assignments may vary).
· Provide support services to adult and youth victims and survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and child abuse.
· Provide crisis intervention through the 24-hour crisis hotline, individual and group psychoeducation.
· Provide hospital accompaniment to survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and child abuse.
· Provide availability for 15 days of on-call coverage per month.
· Conduct intakes, medical and legal accompaniment, referrals.
· Provide advocacy using Trauma Focused Advocacy and utilizing tools such as danger assessments and safety planning.
· Complete all DCVC applications and follow up for qualified victims.
· Assist sexual trauma clients in interactions with criminal justice professionals, the Crime Victims’ Compensation Board and/or private attorneys.
· Assist Sexual Trauma Coordinator with statistical analyses, including identification of trends.
· Advocates and collaborates with systems including criminal justice professionals and other social service organizations.
· Act as an education resource to police and criminal justice professionals through training and education programs.
· Keep abreast of changes in laws affecting Safe Passage service population and of Mandated Reporting requirements.
· Creates community connections in order to facilitate providing education related to sexual violence and rape.
· Provides community education, including multi-session education events, to community groups and school aged children around the issues of sexual violence and rape and prevention.
· Accurately completes and maintains required documentation and case records.
· Attend staff meetings, in-service trainings, and specialized training and meetings as assigned.
· Completes assignments related to data entry for the sexual assault education program.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Completion of four years of college-level coursework or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed above; must have demonstrated ability to provide trauma-informed services in crisis situations; must possess excellent communication skills and be computer literate; must have awareness and interest in the impact of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other relevant issues on Safe Passage service population.
Licenses/Other Requirements:
Valid driver’s license. Must have access to a vehicle with valid insurance. Criminal Background History and Child Abuse Clearances.

· Must complete a minimum of 25 hours of domestic violence/sexual assault advocate training and all other agency trainings as assigned.

Pay: $35,000.00 - $43,000.00 per year
