What are the responsibilities and job description for the Backroom Associate position at Safe Place and Rape Crisis Center (SPARCC)?
Position Summary [Purpose and Scope]: Support the Manager and Asst. Manager in the responsibility for the overall operations of the resale store, facility and inventory maintenance.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work quickly, safely and efficiently to handle product within the back room to ensure the accurate processing of merchandise for the store and our clients
- Receive and process donations, manage and move inventory, pack and ship items for online sales
- Support the Manager and Asst. Manager with cleaning and maintaining the resale shop
- Support the Manager and Asst. Manager with customer service communication with the public, donors, and SPARCC clients
- Maintains positive and respectful attitude while working independently and in a team environment
- Support the Manager and Asst. Manager with pricing and display of resale shop
- Keep Treasure Chest Manager apprised of activities, informally and by written word
- Perform other duties as necessary or assigned
Schedule: 3 days weekly - Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, from 9 am - 5 pm with 30 min break (unpaid break)
Education or Equivalent: High School diploma and experience in retail sales/customer service
Knowledge/Skills Requirements: Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills and personal computer skills. Ability to read, utilize matching skills and comprehend store documentation. Must pass Florida Department of Law Enforcement criminal background check, be eligible to work in the U.S., have reliable transportation and a valid Florida driver’s license.
Physical Requirements: Able to lift and carry merchandise weighing 35-45 lbs frequently throughout a shift and occasionally up to 60lbs. Sit or be on feet for extend periods of time, bend freely, and reach objects over head. Must be able to converse on a telephone and use a keyboard effectively.

Compensation: $16 per hour
Relocation Expense: SPARCC does not provide relocation expenses.
