Job Title: Domestic ViolenceCase Manager

General Summary of Duties: The Domestic Violence Case Manager provides direct services to survivors of domestic violence, including crisis intervention, safety planning, advocacy, and referrals to community resources, educates survivors about their rights and the dynamics of domestic violence, while utilizing a trauma-informed care approach.

Supervision: Reports to the Director of Domestic Violence Services

Status: Full Time Exempt

Job Requirements

The Case Manager must have:

  • Working knowledge of the dynamics of domestic violence.
  • Knowledge of housing and employment community resources.
  • Understand a trauma informed care and how to use it in crisis situations while providing emotional support.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with diverse staff, clients, and volunteers.
  • Demonstrate ability to work comfortably as a team member and contribute positively to the workplace.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving approach to concerns and challenges.
  • Ability to organize time and workload.
  • Demonstrate empathy and empowerment with all individuals being served.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, agility, adaptability and ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain confidentiality, neutrality, and professionalism in the role.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Participates in team meetings and trainings
  • Collaborate with other professionals involved in the case.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Support and Advocacy:

  • Conduct intakes, risk and needs assessments for the development of the clients personalized self-sufficiency plan
  • Develop and implement safety plans
  • Advocates for clients with other agency’s and law enforcement
  • Educate survivors about the dynamics of domestic violence, their rights and available resources
  • Provide information about the legal system and how to navigate it

Case Management:

  • Develop and management case plans to meet the individual needs of survivors
  • Provide referrals to community resources (legal aid, shelters, social services)
  • Increase client’s awareness of available community and CSAH resources and assist them in accessing those resources in a way that promotes personal responsibility and self-reliance.
  • Acts as liaison between client and landlords/realtor companies including HAS and Union Mission.
  • Acts as liaison between client and utility companies (electric, gas, water).
  • Acts as liaison between client and attorneys and/ or probation officers in cases such as, child custody, personal injury, civil cases and divorces.
  • Assist in determining eligibility requirements for housing programs.
  • Search and post job leads and other resource information on the resident board.
  • Complete and approve childcare contracts and bus ticket request forms.
  • Monitor client progress and make necessary adjustments to case plans
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records and input data into state regulated database system according to established standards.

Other Duties

  • Assist, facilitate and coordinate parenting, support groups and other group activities as needed.
  • Transports clients to and from ppointments as needed.
  • Maintain demographic and statistical documentation as assigned by supervisor, including monthly reports regarding numbers, demographic, and performance measures of those served.
  • Assists with donations, clothes, furniture, and household items.
  • Participate in all program and agency quality assurance initiatives to include but not limited to peer chart reviews and 90 day reviews.
  • Attend team meetings and presents issues and concerns of the clients
  • Conduct outreach and awareness campaigns to raise awareness about domestic violence
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in a related field.
  • Basic computer skills required for data entry.
  • Experience working with victims of domestic violence or other trauma-related populations is highly desirable.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

Post offer, pre-employment screening requires successful completion of criminal background check, valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance.

Pay: $41,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
