Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support and assistance to individuals with intellectual disabilities, helping them lead fulfilling everyday lives. You will work closely with clients in various settings, such as home, community and work. Your responsibilities will include integration of individuals in their communities , promoting independence, and ensuring the well-being of those you support.
Responsibilities
- Engage clients in social activities and promote community involvement.
- Assist individuals with autism and other disabilities in developing life skills.
- Collaborate with treatment team on client's progress
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to create personalized care plans.
- Monitor and record behavioral data related to treatment plan
- Write concise and complete progress notes
Requirements
- Must be 18
- High school diploma( minimum) Associate Degree preferred
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or autism is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients, families, and team members.
- A background in social work or related fields is a plus.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others are essential qualities for this role.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
