Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Counselor to join our team, focusing on social skills development and behavior modification. This role involves conducting assessments, developing targeted treatment plans, and facilitating group sessions aimed at skill-building. The Counselor will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for participants.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments to identify social skills and behavior modification needs, developing appropriate and tailored treatment plans.
- Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions, employing techniques focused on social skills training, behavior modification, and motivational interviewing.
- Provide crisis intervention and support as needed, ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants in the program.
- Manage cases effectively, coordinating with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care and support.
- Implement behavior management strategies to help participants develop effective coping skills and enhance social interactions.
- Document participant progress and treatment outcomes in compliance with organizational policies.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in counseling, social skills training, and behavior modification.
Qualifications
- A degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is required; relevant licensure is preferred.
- Experience in facilitating social skills development, group therapy, and behavior management in therapeutic settings is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in crisis intervention techniques and participant assessment methodologies.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
- Familiarity with behavior modification strategies and motivational interviewing techniques.
- Previous experience in individual and group counseling focused on social skills is a plus.
- Knowledge of therapeutic practices related to skill development and behavior management is an advantage.
