We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Building Inspector/Building Official to join our team of professionals. This position offers great opportunity for dynamic, motivated self-starters to work on a variety of work assignments. JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Responsible for meeting all state and locally mandated code compliance and reporting requirements.
- Apply knowledge of building codes, policies, and procedures to the day-to-day functions of the building department.
- Assists in the development and administration of department and division goals, objectives, policies and procedures.
- Serve as the primary liaison with our clients in this area and is responsible for ensuring that we deliver the highest level of customer service
- Responsible for attending department and community meetings as required by the client.
- Prepares program budget and monitors work to ensure that funds and staff time are used effectively and efficiently; analyzes work flow, assignments, priorities and staffing levels.
- Analyzes, reviews, and prepares code amendments or supplements.
- Perform some plan reviews both commercial and residential
- Supervise building department staff.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
- Be able to demonstrate extensive knowledge of local building code regulations, policies and procedures
- Have solid computer skills and experience using MS Office programs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exercise initiative and display independent judgment
- Be self-directed and self-motivated
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Building Official, Building Inspector and Plans Examiner licenses required.
- Inspection and plan review experience.
- Experience managing a building department preferred.
- Client and team management experience in a building department setting preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record required.
