We are seeking an experienced Director of Sales for fast growing a Bay Area plastics manufacturing. This role is responsible for managing the sales and marketing functions and for developing the company’s sales strategy. The role will manage multiple resources and will provide mentorship to the sales and marketing teams. The incumbent will be responsible for adding to the book of business and for responding to all major bids and RFIs. The role will work closely with the product and engineering teams to improve the product lines based on customer feedback. This role will report to the General Manager and will manage two senior outside sales resources.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Day to day management of the sales and marketing function
- Develop sales strategy for the company and assist with developing new markets.
- Record all sales activity in the CRM and develop sales targets and forecast and reports for the sales teams.
- Generate new business via developing new leads
- Add new customers to the existing book of business and mushroom existing client accounts
- Set goals for the sales and marketing teams and manage the sales campaigns.
- Maintain strong communication channels with existing clients throughout the delivery lifecycle
- Work closely with customers, executive teams, production, engineering, quality and finance teams
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERTISE:
- Over 8 years of outside and Business-to-Business sales experience
- Experience with molded and plastic product sales is required.
- Good understanding of plastic products, product design, materials, tooling, and manufacturing techniques within this industry.
- Excellent track record of selling products and processes to large and small customers within competitive industries.
- Strong experience of inside and outside sales using effective communication and SEO techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal presentation and communication skills
- Ability to lead, mentor and manage sales teams with strong and opiniated personalities
- Strong problem-solving skills, data driven mindset and a knack for understanding customer’s problems.
- Experience in managing both the marketing and sales teams withing plastics manufacturing industry
- Strong leadership skills and ability to lead by example
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Materials, Mechanical, Polymer or any Engineering major preferred
