Role Overview
As a Shop Planner, you will play a critical role in managing workflows, prioritizing tasks, and keeping projects on track in a fast-paced pump repair shop. Working closely with the shop leadership team, you’ll ensure operations run smoothly and deadlines are met without compromising on quality. This position calls for exceptional organizational abilities, a proactive mindset, and a strong desire to learn and adapt.
Key Responsibilities:
- Task Scheduling: Plan, assign, and monitor service orders to meet timelines and ensure efficiency.
- Team Collaboration: Serve as a liaison between sales, management, and shop staff to communicate progress and address any project concerns.
- Issue Resolution: Identify and tackle challenges in production or repair workflows to keep operations on course.
- Accurate Record-Keeping: Maintain organized documentation, including repair logs, project updates, and assembly notes.
- Quotes and Reports: Prepare repair summaries and cost estimates with input from mechanics and technicians.
- Technology Utilization: Leverage ERP systems (e.g., Prophet 21), Microsoft Office tools, and SharePoint to manage and track shop activities.
- Support Duties: Assist with occasional tasks such as picking up or delivering parts or materials.
What You Bring:
Skills & Experience:
- Proven ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with ERP systems like Prophet 21 is a plus.
- Mechanical aptitude and an interest in learning pump repair processes.
