Staff Accountant

Job Summary

Staff accountant performs duties related to the preparation and maintenance of numerous financial reports; activities related to daily banking and accounts payable vouchers; general ledger analysis, audit tasks.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Prepare standard monthly journal entries
• Assist with preparation of Quarterly and Annual Statements
• Prepare/Review accounts payable vouchers to include general ledger coding
• Obtain all required approvals to ensure compliance with the company’s policies and internal controls
• Complete monthly bank account and balance sheet reconciliations (accounts receivable) as assigned
• Prepare assigned audit work papers
• Assist other team members in the performance of their assignments and the overall goal of timely and efficient month end closings
• Special projects and other duties as assigned
  
  

Essential Functions

• Ability to use computer and accounting systems to perform daily job duties
• Ability to interpret, file, and organize financial reports and data
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and account/ledger balancing
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with outside clients
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• CPA strongly preferred,or plans to sit for the CPA exam
• 1 - 2 years of Accounting experience
• Desire to learn as much as possible and work in a high growth dynamic environment
• Proactive forward thinker with the ability to prioritize and contribute ideas to the team
  
  

Working Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms
