Duties And Responsibilities
- Continuously improve and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective and timely acquisition of materials and equipment.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the company’s fleet, including maintenance scheduling, fuel usage, vehicle assignments, and lifecycle management.
- Analyze ongoing operations requirements and collaborate with sales, operations, and vendors to forecast material and supply needs.
- Monitor market trends and make recommendations for alternative materials or suppliers to optimize costs.
- Source and evaluate suppliers to ensure they meet industry quality standards and requirements.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to confirm reliability and consistency in delivery.
- Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations and resolve any issues that arise.
- Oversee the purchasing process, including the timely ordering and delivery of materials and equipment to meet expected timelines.
- Manage inventory levels to prevent overstocking or shortages, and track usage for proper allocation of resources.
- Efficiently coordinate logistics and warehousing for material storage, shipping, and distribution.
- Monitor and manage procurement budgets for materials, supplies, and subcontractors.
- Track and report on cost-saving initiatives to ensure alignment with financial targets.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality or project requirements.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies, industry regulations, safety standards, and vehicle registrations related to procurement and fleet management.
- Keep accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, contracts, and invoices.
- Prepare and present regular reports to senior management regarding procurement activities, costs, and project progress.
- Monitor and report on fleet usage, costs, downtime, and other key performance indicators.
- Set and maintain preventative maintenance schedules and ensure timely repairs to minimize vehicle downtime.
- Lead and mentor a team of warehousing staff, providing guidance and ensuring the efficient operation of the department.
- Collaborate with sales and operations to ensure that procurement activities align with the Company's overall goals.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to support project planning and resolve product-related issues.
- Work in partnership with Safety and Operations to enforce vehicle usage policies and driver safety programs.
- Promote and maintain a safe work environment.
- Perform additional duties as required to support business needs.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, inventory, warehousing, or purchasing in a related industry.
- Experience in vendor management and cost control.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supply chain management, and inventory control.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and inventory-related software.
- Safety first mindset. Knowledge of ISO 45001 preferred.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, with a focus on attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce experience preferred.
- Knowledge of integrated security materials, equipment, and industry standards is preferred.
- Pass a drug screen and background check.
- Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets insurance requirements.
- Proof of personal vehicle insurance to include automobile liability and property damage coverage.
- Work inside and outside, including attics, crawl spaces, and roofs.
- Remain stationary at a desk, standing, and moving from place to place for prolonged periods.
- Move equipment and materials up to 40 pounds.
- Observe details at close range.
- Handle products, take notes, operate technology, and present information.
- Read documents and presentations using electronic devices and hard copy materials while interacting with others.
- Exchange accurate information in person, over the phone, in writing, and electronically.
